  FAQs

01

Who can buy a MISA membership?

All undergraduate students in MBIM or BIOT programs can purchase a MISA membership, including students in MBIM joint majors or minor programs. First year students who are interested in MBIM/BIOT unfortunately cannot purchase a MISA membership as they have not declared their major yet.

02

What kind of events does MISA host throughout the year?

MISA hosts an array of social and academic events throughout the year. Some of our events occur every year such as Mentorship Night, Microgala, and Breakfast at MISA's. We are also always looking to host new events such as Careers Night, Mentorship Coffee Chats, and Christmas Movie Night.

Want to propose a new event? Message us on Instagram or email us at ubcmisa.contact@gmail.com

03

What is the best way to keep up with MISA events and updates?

We post most regularly on our Instagram account, so make sure to follow us @ubc.misa. You can also subscribe to our Newsletter mailing list via the box in the footnote, and keep an eye out for MBIM department emails sent on behalf of MISA!

04

What is the MISA Lounge and how to find it?

The MISA Lounge is a space for all MBIM/BIOT students. It is located at BIOL 1121 and you are welcome to use it as a study space, a napping area, a place to hold a small meeting, and/or a place to have lunch (please keep our microwave & fridge clean though)!
